The Police Inspector exam is conducted by GPSC in three stages and the latter is selected on the basis of final merit list. The three stages of the examination are as follows.

Preliminary Examination of Police Inspector in GPSC
The Preliminary Examination of GPSC contains only one paper which is three hundred marks and for this, the candidate is allotted three hours. This exam is of Objective type.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for Police Inspector for GPSC
This exam can be given by the candidates who have been selected from the Preliminary Examination. Candidate’s Physical Efficiency Test is performed in this exam. Whose criteria vary for male and female candidates. Follow the table below for more information.

Main Examination for Police Inspector In GPSC
This test can be given by the only candidates who have passed the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and other physical criteria. This exam is conducted with the Descriptive Examination method. Descriptive exams are conducted on four different subjects like Gujarati, English, General Studies 1 and General Studies 2. Each paper with 200 marks and a total of 800 marks. Personality Test of 100 marks and the final merit made from 900 marks.
